Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark

Treasure Hunters

Children search for meaning in life at the concrete level of understanding. Through games, crafts, songs and stories, they explore the meaning behind principles and values widely shared by Unitarian Universalists.

Every week, as a memory aid, the children make or receive an object symbolic of that week's theme to put in personal treasure chests as well as a class treasure chest. Treasures discovered throughout the year include: the importance of each person, the power of feelings, the joy of friendship, the excitement of the search for truth, Unitarian Universalist heritage, the interdependence of people, and the living web of nature.
